2024-2025 NCOB Charities
Each February the Newcomers Club of Bend membership nominates and votes for two local charities that we will financially support. The charities must have a 501-c-3 status and not have been our selected charity within the last five years.
| The Giving Plate serves Central Oregon with the mission of feeding the hungry in our community. The Giving Plate serves over 3,500 individuals a month. They have a unique focus on childhood hunger with over 65% of those that they serve being under 18. The Backpack for Bend and Kid’s Korner programs support the children in our community. They are committed to ensuring that our food-insecure neighbors are not only offered the help they need but are served with dignity, compassion, and hospitality. |
| Court Appointed Special Advocates, CASA of Central Oregon is a qualified 501-c-3 organization serving foster kids who have been removed from their homes due to allegations of neglect or abuse. Judges appoint CASA volunteers to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children and make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened child welfare system. Volunteers stay with each case until it is closed, and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. |
